Technical Information

The Agon Console8 is a close collaboration between Heber Ltd and the original designer of the Agon platform, Bernardo Kastrup. For more information about the Console8 and the Agon platform please visit Heber.co.uk

The Agon Console8 is a single board computer designed around an eZ80 8bit CPU running at ~18Mhz.

The eZ80 CPU has a high-speed serial link to a dedicated ESP32-PICO-D4 microcontroller that handles the Video output, audio and connections for keyboard and mouse.

Internal program storage is provided by a microSD card formatted with FAT32.

The official Agon Console8 GitHub page for both advanced MOS and VDP can be found here - Agon Console8 · GitHub

Older firmware versions are also available that were ogoginally developed for Agon platform. We recomend using the dedicated Agon Console8 firmware via the link above.

The Agon Console8 User manual can be found here - Agon Console8 – Heber Ltd.

(MOS/BIOS) has the ability to self-update from the micro SD card. Further firmware documentation can be found here
