The SNAC Cartridge adds the ability to connect original USB3.0 style SNAC adaptors to the Multisystem2 Cartridge port.

This interface has a built in level shifter and three two position switches to select if the USB3.0 style connector is in SNAC (5v) or USER (3.3v) mode.

We make a range of dedicated SNAC cartridges for Multisystem and Multisystem2, but if you already have any of the original SNAC adaptors that use a USB 3.0 connector, then you can use this cartridge interface to adapt them for use on Multisystem2.

You do not require this cartridge if you are using an original Multisystem. It's only designed for Multisystem2 (Analogue).

This cartridge can connect one classic SNAC adaptor at a time (not included, shown in images for example and typical use application).

Multisystem2 is also not included!

This listing is for the assembled SNAC Classic Cartridge PCB fitted into a Charcoal Black 3D printed enclosure with blue SNAC surround.

Compatible with Multisystem2 Analogue - Not compatible with Multisystem2 Digital

What you will receive:

  • Built and Tested SNAC Classic Cartridge PCB.
  • Assembled into a 3D printed enclosure (PolyTerra matte Charcoal Black with blue SNAC surround).

The SNAC Classic Cartridge is assembled and ready to use.

The SNAC Classic Cartridge has three switches, they are usually set to all left position as shown below.

For some MiSTer SNAC adaptors, you may need to set these switches -

Switch 1 is the selection for SNAC (5V) or USER port (3.3v) operation. Most adaptors use SNAC for classic controllers expecting 5v and level shifted signals.

Switch 2 is the power supplied to the device, usually 5V for most SNAC adaptors, but you can select 3.3v if required.

Switch 3 selects between supplying 3.3v power or being used as an I/O signal, this is most often set to IO6 (Left), but for devices such as the GBA link cable, you will require this switch to be in the right position (3.3v).

Note this is NOT a USB3.0 device, but is designed to use original SNAC/USER port adaptors of a MiSTer system that use the USB3.0 style connector.
